The third weekend in October each year, the annual Sun Valley Jazz & Music festival celebrates a history of Jazz music. Each year over five thousand jazz connoisseurs from all over the states and several foreign countries attend the event. The quality of the music and the destination of the event gives an exciting attraction too Sun Valley Idaho. " All the bands want to play in Sun Valley," said Bill Alred of Orlando, Florida, the leader of one of the festival's most popular groups. " Things are perfect here- the venues, appreciative fans, accommodations-everything, not to mention a spectacular setting in these gorgeous mountains. An invitation to come here is a prized possession in our industry."  "The festival is our largest and most popular single event," said Wally Huffman, past General Manager for the Sun Valley Resort. " We fill the resort for a week. What's more, the in-town accommodations, stores, restaurants, and other facilities in Ketchum do tremendous business, so it's an economic boom as well as a crowd favorite." A beautiful snowy brisk day here in Ketchum. Too top it off, The American Planning Association honored Ketchum Main Street as one of America's "Greatest Streets". Ketchum was one of five cities to receive the award. The city of Ketchum will celebrate Thursday October 20th. The event starts at noon. A band, Tom Rigney & Flambeau, will begin playing at 12:30 p.m. "This year's designees highlight the power of a single well-planned street to stimulate economic activity and energize an entire community," APA President Carol Rhea said in the news release.
